What are coincidences? Without going into too much detail, there is an incredible coincidence happening to me. It has been going on for a while and it's weird. I don't know why I can't shake it. I've never been very good at reading signs. I've never really fully trusted my instincts, but I'm trying to change that. At the same time, I don't want to put too much credit into something I don't understand. But this is like a HUGE blinking arrow pointing in a direction. When do you know if a coincidence is something that should be paid attention to or just shrugged off as...well...a coincedence?? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 4:56 PMYou would find many who say that there are no such events as coincidences; that what happens is the sum total of all events that preceded.
I personally do not believe in coincidence as a matter of pure happenstance, and so when something occurs that I deem “coincidental” I make it a point to pursue the matter further.
The book the Celestine Prophecy popularized these ideas, especially when it comes to coincidences involving people -

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Tue, December 7, 2004 - 7:18 PMI guess you have answered my question. I read Celestine Prophecy. A very good book. The odd thing about these occurances is that there are many instances of them and it starting happening directly I returned from BM this year and continues. I know this all sounds very weird without going into great depth. Ok... let's see if I can give you a bit more information without divulging too much.
I have come to a cross road and need to make an important decision. This is something that has been weighing on my mind for a few months now. Here's where the weirdness comes in...
I have met some really really great people in the past few months. I have become good friends with some of them. I would say all but maybe 1 or 2 of the women that I have become friends with have either just finished making this same decision or they are currently in the process of making this same decision. AND the circumstances leading up to making this decision are exactly (almost identiical) the same as mine. Not only this, but I have had several friends bring up in conversation the exact same situation that a friend, sister, co-worker, etc. are going through.
Now, before I got to this fork in the road, I wasn't aware of . Now all of a sudden it's everywhere and in my face like a large flashing blinky thing shaped like an arrow.
Here's my dilemma...
I have always been quite pragmatic when it comes to making decisions in my life. I've never been very good at following my gut instinct (although that is something I am working very hard on - trusting myself). So when I look at these "coincidences" or "occurances", do I look at them just as simply as that or do I take them as a sign or a directional device? I suppose you kind of already answered that question, but how do you go about pursuing it further? -

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Wed, December 8, 2004 - 10:00 AMhi alana, i'm rafaelo, we kinda met this last weekend at apocalypse :)
honor the lowest common denominator.
so you are recognizing a pattern and it's suggesting that you chose a direction. when we reach cross roads it is very rare for a person to know 100% which fork to take, we are split to some degree: 50/50, 70/30, 99/1,... parts of me wants to go left and parts want to go right. if we force ourself to go by listening to or following others, or tossing the dice or flipping a coin, the part of us that does not want to go will alwyas drag their feet and slow us down, reducing the potential that we have to accomplish our chosen goals.
i have learned the value of stopping to listen to each part, each feeling, each sensation of my body, mind and spirit, because they always have something important to say.
this message always comes in one of 2 forms.
1. the part of me that does not want to go is an irrational fear, generally from a previous negative experience that i am transposing on the choice based on a projection into the future. once i uncover this it is a matter of releasing that fear, thus empowering me to go forward and reducing the over resistance that this stored negative energy is draining from my overall being.
2. the part of me that does no want to go is a highly sensative and insightful aspect of my being that can see ahead, project accurately into the future and is trying to tell me that i am heading in a dangerous or undesired direction. this has literally saved my life on more than one occasion and prevented me from unnecesary pain hundreds of times.
the lowest common denominator is a powerful tool fo figuring out which way to go.
good luck to you and blessing on your decision making process.
if you are interested in tools for actually having this conversation with yourself, contact me directly and i will be happy to share whatever would be useful and appropriate.
ps i was born and have lived and travel in peru and know that the celestine prophesy is so grossly inaccurate in it's descriptin of what peru is really like that i do not consider it much more than a fun book to read. if the author had actually ever been to peru he would be more convincing. i would not follow that arrow.
that said peru is a really amazing and magical place but in hmo for many other reasons :)

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Wed, December 8, 2004 - 3:47 PMit sounds to me that you learned something very important at BM; you seem to be seeing and hearing in new ways
would it be any easier if others hadn't let it be known that they too have faced the same decision?
do the people who have been providing the "coincidences" have any common denominators? are they all, for example, highly conscious?
I may know what you're alluding to, but hesitate to guess here. The very fact that the issue has taken on such importance to you indicates that it simply must be addressed. No decision is perfect. Never discount your intuition.

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Fri, December 10, 2004 - 2:18 AMI believe that "coincidences" are signs from a higher vibrational universal energy that connects all of us. Living our everyday life without spirit or not being connected you don't see "coincidences" and are closed off. If you notice "coincidences" and other unexplained happenings, you are plugged into the higher vibrational energy zone and once you notice it, you will notice more and more.
In your heart you will know what is best for you.
Take a piece of paper and write the down the two possibilities on different sides of the paper. Tear it in half and put one in your hand and the other hand empty and on your heart. Stretch out your hand and ask someone to push down your arm tha has the paper in it. Do the same again for the other possibility. Which ever possibility was the easiest to push your arm down tha twas stretched out is the one you shouldn't take. This is called muscle testing....
I like the work of D. Chopra and go see "what the bleep do we know" or rent it, it talkes about creating your destiny through employing efforts into the quantim field.... -

Re: Maybe you all can impart some wisdom on me
Tue, December 14, 2004 - 12:17 PMThank you all for your thoughts and ideas on this subject. I'm finding the whole exploration to be very interesting and I am learning so much about myself along the way.
I have been told to see the movie What the Bleep Do We Know by a few people. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Do any of you know where I can catch this film? Since so many people have told me about it independently of this discussion, I really feel like I should check it out.
Thanks again. You all ROCK!
